When my mind finally comes to rest

The last few days have been very, very busy. A lot of exciting projects going on at Boulevart and the beginning of a new “Chiro” jaar. Busy times or not, while being at work my mind is constantly busy. I’m not talking about answering e-mails or twittering. I’m talking about small things, ideas, inspiration, questions, remarks, … – tiny bits of information that pop up constantly.

There are few moments when my mind completely comes to rest, this is one of those moments: after arriving home, I take off my shoes, grab something to drink and eat and chill for 15 minutes in front of the television. I just stare and almost freeze completely.

15 Minutes of silence & not thinking about something internet-related. It doesn’t matter what’s on the telly (”home and away” for the win – yes I follow home and away).

After 15 minutes I’m already starting to get nervous and I grab my laptop – what follows we all know…

Is this me being addicted to something? Could be, but I experience it more as a strong passion…

My question to you guys: What is your moment of rest after a busy day?

    • Don’t laugh: sitting at the toilet for at least 10 to 15 minutes with a cool magazine or book, in the weekends the newspaper.

    • I’m off for soccer training on tuesday and thursday and watching television could be my moment of rest after a busy day ( soccer training is not really resting but at least i’m not thinking of something internet/mobile related stuff )

But for me the most relaxing part of the day is mostly my breakfast. 15 to 20 minutes of reading the news paper, preparing lunch, eating.. I always here people say: “I have no time for breakfast”.

I say: make time, it’s worth it, especially when you are looking forward to a busy day!
