Management

As an individual, you’re seeing 10% of the organizational drama your manager is seeing. I know it’s intriguing to get the full story, but again, it’s often none of your business, and it’s not your job. As a manager, you get front row seats for all of the drama in all its messy glory.

And that’s what bothers me sometimes: not seeing (or knowing about) that other 90% – cause in some cases – you will need to know the complete story, especially when you need to make certain decisions.

    • If you dig deeper, talk to a lot of people from different levels inside the company. Share your thoughts with your CEO briefly and catch his attention so he/she is prepared to debate with you on your vision about the company structure and the organizational drama, you will be able to obtain more insights and eventually be able to see the biggest part of a bigger picture. But you have to invest time and patience, get yourself connected andtry to keep a low profile when fishing for the real issues.
